Three Wins for NetBeans in Developer.com Product Awards!

By: Admin, 16 Jan 2008

The NetBeans IDE has won the Development Tool and Java Tool categories in the Developer.com Product of the Year 2008 Awards!

Developer.com cited the NetBeans IDE's Java SE 6 framework as a key factor in its win over rival development tools such as IntelliJ and MyEclipse. Similarly, the IDE's support for Java desktop, mobile, enterprise, and web application development, and its well-regarded out-of-box experience received favorable mentions from nominators.

In a close race, the NetBeans IDE edged out Eclipse for the top Java Tool honor. The IDE's revamp with the newly released 6.0 version and its support for languages such as Ruby and C/C++ made the list of noteworthy highlights.

The NetBeans Mobility Pack also nabbed a win in the Wireless/Mobile Development Tool/ Add-in category, with positive nods directed at its new mobile game builder and integrated UI for CLDC/MIDP development.

Congratulations to NetBeans!
