Google Web Toolkit support plugin is now available on the Update Center.

By: Admin, 04 May 2007

GWT (Google Web Toolkit) is an open source Java software development framework for creating AJAX-enabled Web 2.0 applications. Its unique feature is conversion of plain Java code to browser-dependent JavaScript and HTML code in a transparent manner, taking the pain of working with JavaScript away from the developer. GWT rapidly becomes the technology of choice for developing rich-client web application.

GWT4NB is a new NetBeans plugin that aims to combine the powerful web and enterprise features built into NetBeans IDE with GWT in the most efficient way. Thanks to a growing number of contributors and cooperation with the GWT authors the GWT4NB project matures quickly and already provides a significant set of functionality. For a quick overview of what's available see a flash-based demo contributed by Prem Kumar.

The plugin has been just published on the Beta Update Center for NetBeans 5.5 and 5.5.1 and Development Update Center for NetBeans 6.0, which makes the installation straightforward.
