NetBeans GUI Builder Wins Innovation Award at JAX!
Admin, 26 Apr 2007
The NetBeans GUI Builder (Project Matisse) received the JAX Innovation Community Award at the
2007 JAX Conference,
held in Wiesbaden, Germany.
What is significant about the Innovation Community Award and the win
for NetBeans? Conference attendees decide on the winner, and the
NetBeans GUI Builder was an audience favorite at an event largely attended by Eclipse users!
NetBeans Evangelist Roman Strobl, who spoke at the week-long conference, accepted the award on behalf of NetBeans and said of the win: "I think the award shows that there's indeed a lot of innovation happening at NetBeans and the GUI builder definitely deserves such recognition. It is notable that the winner of this award was not decided by a committee but by developers who were present at the awards ceremony at the conference. NetBeans development team and Swing team can be proud of their common achievement with project Matisse."
In addition to a commemorative plaque, NetBeans was awarded a check for 1000 Euros. The proceeds will be donated to the charity Artzte ohne Grenzen (Doctors Without Borders). Congratulations to NetBeans!
