Description deepakjacob 2007-04-04 14:59:32 UTC
If we can run update wizard as a background process or it runs in a minimized
window netbeans users can work unhindered. Just like current eclipse update.

Now even though it's not a modal window, this cannot be minimized or put into
background.

Josef, please consider this RFE. But I'm not sure it's feasible because while
installation or uninstallation is running the IDE could be unstable and can
leads users for unwaited problems. Thanks

IDE may be locked only during installation phase not during downloading list of
plugins or downloading plugins. I think, that Pugin manager must not be modal
windows. When all plugins are downloaded will be show modal install progress
windows.

I agree. It would be better if update wizard didn't block the user from working with the IDE. We would need to figure out how to fit the non-modal progress
into the whole plugin dialog workflow.

Update wizard can run in background in NB6.1
