Description Jaromir Uhrik 2007-03-30 14:19:27 UTC
There used to be Update Icon in status bar indicating availability of updates.
In the status line, two different update icons appeared:
1/ICON1 in case the IDE cannot connect to the update centers (caused by no
internet connection or by proxy misconfiguration). Clicking this icon invoked a
modal dialog in which the user configured the proxy.
2/ICON2 appeared in case of available updates for already installed plug-ins.
This icon stayed visible unless user clicks it or invoke the Plug-In Center
dialog via Tools menu.

Please provide scenarios for this functionality and add it to UI-specification.

This must to be implemented => raising the priority to P1.
Comment 2 Josef Holy 2007-04-08 22:02:27 UTC
The requested information was incorporated into the UI Spec
(http://xdesign-tools.czech.sun.com:8080/JSPWiki/Wiki.jsp?page=JH_AutoUpdate_UI_Spec#update_icon_scenario).
A skeleton of the Enhanced Update Icon scenario was also added into the 'Future
work' section of the UI Spec. Marking this issue as 'FIXED'.
