Description eakle 2001-02-01 17:33:15 UTC
just now I ran CVS Diff on a file and didn't realize that the output shows up as
a tab in the source editor window. My expectation was that the diff output
would display in a newly created window. So, after reviewing the Diff, I
dismissed its window, and then noticed that my source window was also gone! Now
I see what happened, but I think it would be better to show Diff results in a
newly created window. Short of that, then show them as a tab in the Output
window. Either of those would be better and more expected than showing the
output in the source window.

Well, docking the diff into the Editor mode is a feature and many users
appreciate, that they don't have an extra window flowing on their screen. The
behavior is the same as when you open any source file. Closing the mode will
close all its components.
If you do not agree, please send a message to nbui@netbeans.org, so that it can
be discussed in the open source community.
