In 6.0 there have been done some improvements for "Search History" and you can
take advantage of it - "Diff" section of "Search History". Now you can see
branches and tags for the revision there.

I second this request.

At least in Netbeans 6.8M2 I don't see any options to view different branches and tags in the Diff section of Search
History.
