Description Saimon Moore 2000-12-15 20:05:17 UTC
Description of System:
PIII 450MHZ
Seattle 440BX
192 MHZ SDRAM 100MHZ( 64Mb and 128 Mb Kingston installed today)
Fujitsu 6Gb and Quantum Fireball 20,5 Gb hard drives
Matrox Millenium G400 16Mb
O.S.: Linux Distribution: Mandrake 7.2
jsdk: SUN SDK1.3

Problem:
RPM installed. No problem! on execution of runide.sh in /bin directory ffj begins loading of modules but an exception dialog box appears (java.lang.InternalError Exception ). ShowDetails, Close or Next Button
do not function. Meanwhile the Automatic Update dialog box loads up and functions but main ide box remains blank!! Similar problem occured when I had Forte4j CE 1.0 installed on this system (Mandrake 7.2) but same exception o on loading of Projects Module. Forte4j CE 1.0 functioned well under Mandrake 7.0

Bug refers to being logged in as user.
Logging in as root, Exception doesn't occur.
Comment 2 Jesse Glick 2000-12-18 07:57:59 UTC
Please upload your system/ide.log as a Bugzilla attachment, otherwise the
problem cannot be diagnosed. Also if some part of the IDE ever "freezes" (does
not repaint or does not respond to actions), please get a thread dump (Ctrl-\ in
a console window, i.e. SIGQUIT I think) and upload a copy of the dump as a
Bugzilla attachment too.
Comment 3 David Strupl 2000-12-18 08:22:59 UTC
Did the same happen when running runide_multiuser.sh? If installed by root this
should be the way to launch the ide (or am I wrong, Jesse?).
Comment 4 Jesse Glick 2000-12-18 14:42:59 UTC
Yes, the _multiuser variant of the startup script should be used in root mode.
