Description massenz 2006-11-04 14:59:47 UTC
I had already successfully installed NB 5.5 without any problem - however, as I
was experiencing some stability issues (nothing to do with NB) I had to
"restore" win XP to a previous time.

Unfortunately, that re-instated NB 5.5rc2 on the system, but I was unable to
uninstall it, so I had to manually remove all dirs and registry entries from the
system.

Downloaded again NB and started the installer, it shows:

Welcome to the Install Wizard for ERROR: null

The Install Wizard will install ERROR: null on your computer. To continue,
choose Next.

Any suggestions?
Thanks,

Marco

If I get the installation to proceed, it finds the JDK (1.5b08) but then it
stops with the following message:

Please read the information below.
Errors occurred during the installation.
   o null
   o null
   o null
   o null

The following warnings were generated:

   o null

Sorry, forgot to mention - the JDK works fine, usual test

java -version

outputs the usual stuff.

Try to clean directory "C:\Program Files\Common
Files\InstallShield\Universal\common".

Confirmed. It is known issue with broken VPD database. Cleaning folder given in
previous message solevs problem.
