Copy some file and Paste -> Create link. This link has property original name.
If you change this property it causes renaming of original file. I would expect
that this property is read-only. Or other expected behavior of changing this
property could be changing link to new file.

Not clear to me at least if there is really a bug, or if so which proposed
solution is better.

You are probably talking about "Name" property, but I mean "Original 
Name" property.

The property "Original name" was designed for changing the original 
object's name. It works fine and people use it. It will not be fixed 
now.
