Select a folder in Explorer and the run menuitem "Find...". In the subsequent dialog I often want to search only the Type "Java source objects" (probably a very common use case for this dialog). However the "Java source objects" type is not listed near the top of the Type-list. Suggestion: can you move it up to the top of this list by default, so I don't have to scroll to see it? At this point, I do "Save Settings as..." to save the "Java source objects" criteria for quick reference in the future. However, it turns out to not be a time saver, because it takes 4+ mouse clicks to restore a saved criteria; it is quicker for me to scroll the list and select it again. Suggestion: do away with the dialog invoked by the "Restore Saved..." button and place that dialog's droplist on the main "Customize Criteria" dialog; also, when the user selects a saved setting from the droplist, it would be nice to scroll the Type-list so the first type within the saved setting is visible.
Partially fixed. Avilable in next build [main-trunk]. I made types sorted. This not guearantee java object type visible, but it will be possible to find quicker. To the second part how should be designed the customization of criteria? That involves to redesigne the searching a bit in more complex manner. So I leave the bug open and look at it later, but I don't succeded it to 3.2.
I will not implement this enhancement. I would rather implement one or both of the following enhancements: issue #30345 - "search filesystems" should restore type automatically issue #35256 - Specifying files to search in the Find in Files dialog Marking as WONTFIX.
