Description bugbridge 2006-07-13 18:41:47 UTC
Original status: 5-Cause Known; Suggested Status: NEW

Original Target Release: coke_dev; Suggested Target Milestone : 5.5

Original submitter: mikk

Description:

Currently there is no way to open the BPEL mapper for an assignment.
User has to go to Windows->Mapper NB main menu.
It should be possible to open mapper from the assignment element context menu
or the mapper should open automatically when selecting assignments (and closed
when deselecting).

Evaluation:
Jirka, did you have a proposal for this situation?

Evaluation (Entry 2):
This would require some integration with bpel editor. will be for future.

Yes, this is a duplicate
Comment 3 lchang 2006-08-03 23:25:03 UTC
I don't necessarily agree that this is a duplicate issue.

1. If you explicitly close the BPEL Mapper, when you click on the Assign
activity, it will not automatically open.

In this case it would be nice to have an option to open the BPEL mapper either
through double-click of the assign activity or have an "open mapper" option the
right-click menu
Comment 4 Joshua Sandusky 2006-08-11 21:43:44 UTC
increased priority - the recent workshop made it clear that this was a higher
priority item
Comment 5 Michael Frisino 2006-08-12 08:23:32 UTC
we could add a Action Button to the Assigment element as well as context menu.
Comment 6 Jiri Kopsa 2006-08-14 09:57:31 UTC
Josh,

Did the users of the workshop closed the mapper explicitly before they were
experiencing problems?

We might see a paralel here with other windows, which can only be brought up
from the Window main menu.
Comment 7 Jiri Kopsa 2006-08-14 10:51:39 UTC
Based on Mike's argument saying that there is also "Properties" action in the
contextual menus, I think we can add "Show BPEL Mapper" action just before
"Properties" action to the contextual menus of the relevant elements.
Comment 8 Mikhail Kondratyev 2006-08-14 12:55:16 UTC
I also think adding this context menu item will be quite useful.
Comment 9 Joshua Sandusky 2006-08-18 17:27:04 UTC
fixed, mapper window now opens when you double-click an activity in the bpel
designer ("Design" mode)
Comment 10 Jiri Kopsa 2006-08-22 10:44:01 UTC
Double click is fine and efficient, but perhaps the contextual menu actions
would also help. Let's add "Show BPEL Mapper" action just before "Properties"
action to the contextual menus of the relevant elements.

Reopenning and assigning to Alexey Yarmolenko. Also decreasing priority to P4
(as there is a workaround).
Comment 11 Alexey Yarmolenko 2006-08-31 18:35:30 UTC
Vitaliy, please create a new Action named "Show BPEL Mapper" for Assign
element and make it behaving the same as the default action for this element.

p.s. Folks, what about other activities, like If and While, who also have
something to show in Mapper?
Comment 12 Jiri Kopsa 2006-08-31 19:11:19 UTC
I think this enhancement should apply to all activities that make use of mapper.
Comment 13 Vitaly Bychkov 2006-09-08 15:15:52 UTC
Done
