Works fine for me in a dev build using Linux / UTF-8, so something broken on
your test machine I guess. Java on Windows seems to not really handle Unicode
correctly. Doubt there's anything we can do about it.

seems that it works with --fontsize 16

Marking as verified - its must to be run with --fontsize parameter.
