I've seen two reports of a completely blank main window on SuSE 10.1:-( One is related to Creator 2.1 (NB 4.1 code base): http://forum.sun.com/jive/thread.jspa?forumID=123&threadID=97305 The other was related to NB 5. Unfortunately I saw that late on #netbeans @irc.freenode.net and the user had left already:-( My IRC client also messed the log up, it did not include the previous messages:-( Both installations were running with JDK 1.5.*. I'll try to install SuSE 10.1 on my Opteron box. I'll update this bug as soon as I know more. -- Marco
We need more information.
Any new information? We never experienced such error, Linux or Win OS. Reporter when you reproduce please try with various JDK versions, graphics is changing between versions. Also be sure to try with latest dev build and JDK 1.6, I removed one hack several days ago which may influence this. Thanks.
I did install SuSE 10.1 on my box. But I was not able to reproduce the problem:-( Could it be again some graphics chip specific problem?? I was using a Sun w2100z with the Nvidia binary graphics driver. I tried different versions of NetBeans 4.1 ... 5.5, Creator 2.* and JDK's. But it was interesting that I saw the problem mentioned for two different NB/Creator versions. So I wanted to let you know that there might be a problem. Thanks, -- Marco
Thanks Marco - indeed there may be a problem somewhere and the hack I talked about may be guilty - but without reproduction I can't do anything more, just wish that the problem is gone, because main window displaying hack was removed for JDK 1.6. Closing now, if reappers please reopen with more info, thanks.
