I have changed the Java Resource Encoding to UTF-8. 
Restarted the IDE, But Still am not able to see the Chinese text i copy pasted 
in to the IDE.

Can you elaborate about what was changed and where and include an image
of the editor window that shows what the incorrect looking text looks
like ? (assuming the Chinese text does not show as it should ) ?

Also can you tell what locale on xp you are in and attach also the
<userdir>/var/messages log file ?

Was the encoding changed the one for the file itself or for the editor
encoding (which I think is from the traditional options - java sources - 
default encoding.
