Description Steve Hanselman (Brendata UK Ltd) 2000-08-25 14:30:58 UTC
The IDE crashes on startup after the Internet modules have been installed.
The IDE initially started, I shutdown the IDE, it now fails on startup with an
application error, failure to read and a memory address.

I have completely removed the IDE, restarted the machine, re-installed the IDE,
re-installed the internet modules and the same thing happens again.
Comment 1 Steve Hanselman (Brendata UK Ltd) 2000-08-25 14:33:59 UTC
runtime env is 1.3.0C
Comment 2 Steve Hanselman (Brendata UK Ltd) 2000-08-25 14:50:59 UTC
build is 1067 (both IDE and modules).
The crash is in a thread, if you do not respond to the message box then the IDE
comes up (with the message box still shown).

The IDE appears usable in this state(!)

If it is a Forte for Java bug only which does not apply to NetBeans (which it
sounds like, since you say it does not occur until IE modules are installed),
please enter it as such:

http://www.sun.com/forte/ffj/resources/bug_submit.html

Of course, if you have specific reason to think that the problem is in the
NetBeans subset of the code, then reopen this bug.

Anyway more details would be required to reproduce this--exact error messages
received, what you installed, and so on.

Resolved for 3.4.x or earlier, no new info since then -> closing.
