An alternative for using classic makefiles for c++ projects is to use ant with
the optional cpptasks. cnd could supply an appropriate project type which
generates an ant script using cpptask and maps build actions to its targets.

I agree with you. And I think that ant may be the principal way of building projects with netbeans because ant is much
better and simpler to use. And you may  leave the makefiles for those who still like that.... ( I don't dislike but we
must admit that ants is very better )...
