I installed 5.0 RC1. I started it up and things went fine. Then I decided I wanted to switch userdirs... That is when it hit me. I could not find a way to switch userdirs without using a terminal window... The netbeans.conf file is "buried" inside the dot-app directory... Which is meant to be a "wall" to point- and-click users (it is difficult to get inside the directory). The default userdir is in a hidden file in the users home directory... hard to get to again. I cannot find a way to use the -userdir with the double clickable icon.... So, telling a Mac user to "use a new/clean userdir" will be frustrating for them. Documentation may help in the short term. A longer term solution may be bettter, though...
Reassigning to "core".
A task for the launcher I guess, please reassign to correct category if I'm wrong, thanks.
I do not know Mac so passing to Milos. Is there any recommended way?
AFAIK there's not a "default mac" way of switching user dir. #11434 points out that the default location of the user directory shall be different on mac. however that probably doesn't solve your problem. "The netbeans.conf file is "buried" inside the dot-app directory... Which is meant to be a "wall" to point- and-click users (it is difficult to get inside the directory)." Right-click and "Show package content" action. -> wontfix or duplicate of #11434 *** This issue has been marked as a duplicate of 11434 ***
