Need to improve the system proxy detection on solaris that doesn't use Gnome
window manager.  Most of our Solaris systems are configured w/ CDE.

Isn't GNOME default on Solaris 10. Also with new OpenSolaris based installations
I'd expect majority of users to run GNOME rather than CDE. Do we have numbers of
users (how many pecent of users run on Solaris, what version of Solaris they have)?
