Description rdowney 2005-10-15 00:14:41 UTC
[ BUILD # : beta 5.0 ]
[ JDK VERSION : 1.5.0_04 ]

I found this on Solaris , but I think it will affect Linux and possibly Mac OSx users as well.
Its a case of only part of an option makin it into the modern view.
The new Modern view has a nice simple drop-down to allow you to select the browser to use Firefox mozilla etc. but it doesn't let you specify where to find it - the classic view does
As an example I installed firefox on Solaris 10 and it installed into /opt/firefox , when I select firefox from the modern view it can't find it presumably because its not in the expected place or a link hasn't been set up (I'm not a solaris expert) with the classic view it was easy for me to go to the web browser setting for firefox and browse to the location of the firefox binary.

A browse button on the same line would be all it would require I think and if
the present drop-down for browsers were reduced in width it would fit without
diturbing the rest of the dialog.

Too late to fix in NB5.0.

Core maintains just core/options, so I reassigned all those issues that were
originally assigned to editor. If you think that some of them fall into
core/options please reassign them selectively back.

This web browser setting not an editor setting. Reassigning back to core/options.
Comment 7 rmatous 2006-06-28 14:39:25 UTC
UI spec probably needed. Definitely this panel GeneralOptionsPanel lives in
editor/options. In core/options is actually just the infrastructure and not
individual panels plus bugs in IDESettings should probably be assigned to core.
