This is related to issue 65286.

It would be nice to have the Select in capability implemented in the image
editor (similar to the Java editor's capability)

Since most other editors support this functionality, I guess I would consider it
a defect. You could argue that it is an enhancement.

This is a reasonable request. Yes, I consider it an enhancement.
