see summary and attached screenshot, use project attached to issue #61761 for
reproducing this issue. After testing some operation, see appserver's log - you
can see there that byte array returned from the websvc is *not* empty.

The issue with byte[] argument (and byte[]) return value was fixed partialy.
The exception isn't thrown any more.
Nevertheless, for byte[] argument the default read-only byte[]{} array is
generated. This is due to jax-rpc implementation that recognizes byte[]
arguments as JavaSimpleType. Currently there is no way to modify the default value.

There is a workaround to use Byte array instead. For clients created in j2se/web
project the byte[] arguments work properly.

I am downgrading the priority to P4

Still valid. Should behave similarly as int[], long[] etc.

This bug was reported against NetBeans IDE 6.0 or an older release, or against a non-maintained module. NetBeans team does not have enough resources to get to this issue, therefore we are closing the issue as a WONTFIX.
