build 050731 -install appserver 9 -start ide with clean userdir -in runtime tab add appserver -start appserver --Error 19: The Sun Application Server 9.0 could not start... --Appserver is started, but ide doesn't recognize it tested on solaris and linux
which as 9.0 build?
Sun Java System Application Server Platform Edition 9.0 (build b03-fcs)
Similar symptoms as issue 61638. Maybe, duplicate of this issue?
Well, from the report (and from when it was reported) it looks very much like the 61638 (caused by my regression in j2eeserver) only in 90 plugin. Vince applied the fix I did for 81 into 90, see SunDeploymentManager in 90, rev 1.2, comment: "...apply fix for getDisconnectedDeploymentManager() issues that Pavel.."

Some times restarting appserver failed on Fedora Core3. Did not see any error message.
I tried with NB 5.5 Beta build on Fedora Core3 Some times Appserver 9 failed to start. Did not see any error message in log If this is not correct release please let me know.
PCM, please attach server's log. Is server started or not? Did you try to connect to web console?
PCM: obvioulsy more info would help...I am not sure why you do not provide it:-( What is the reproducible case? What is the ratio of failure in %? What is the state of the system after (ie server is running or not?) What happens if you restart the IDE: does it see the server running? What is special with the network settings on this machine? (can we remote login to analyse? If yes, provide the machine name, ip) How many CPU? Which JDK? When this bug was opened las year, was it on the same machine? Do you have another machine to try to reproduce?
PCM, please add your details to this issue: http://www.netbeans.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=76160 The probability that the root cause of this issue is the root cause of your current situation is virtually nil. I am putting this issue back into fixed state....
