NB4.2 (200504121800), JDK1.5.0_02 (fcs) If you open Favorites view, there is no Favorites node. (see attached screenshot). It works fine in NB4.1 . BTW: if there is no Favorites node, there is no way to add any folder/file from the outside of all opened projects to favorites view.
Created attachment 21599 [details] screenshot of favorites view without Favorites node
This is not regression but improvement :). Please see issue #57068 for more detail. In short root node was displayed just for one reason - to be able to invoke action Add to Favorites using popup menu. As enhancement #57068 now enables to invoke this action from free space in view (popup menu) displaying of root node in view (Favorites) is now useless - we can save some space. If you do not agree consult HIE.
So, why we have still Runtime node in Runtime view ?
Runtime should go away as well. (Probably not as part of this issue.)
Just note: I am curious how our users find this menu, but fine, I've filed new issue regarding Runtime root node (issue 57864)
