Just installed 4.1 beta (after a nightmare with 4.0). After being told to fix the libraries have done that. Clicked ok to finish and get a popup saying "Change Project Properties" which is blank. It owns the whole screen so cannot do anything. Unfortunately gave up on Netbeans 4.0 on Solaris as just too unstable. Hope this can be fixed so that we can use this IDE
I'm really sorry but I can't understand how to reproduce this bug from something like: "After being told to fix the libraries have done that. Clicked ok to finish and get a popup saying "Change Project Properties" which is blank. It owns the whole screen so cannot do anything. What libraries?, in which project type? Was the project created in 4.0? Did you try to create new one. Screenshot of the dialog? Etc. Many people use NetBeans on Solaris without problems btw.
More info from the reporter: I have since investigated this bug a little more and I think it is the conversion from Netbeans 4.0 to 4.1. We have a number of projects and you have to be careful the order in which you do the conversion from 4->4.1. If you try and do a conversion on a project which depends on one which you haven't yet done then this appears to cause the error. When the dialog appears with the title "Change Project Properties" it is completely grey with nothing on it at all. Having been very careful to do the projects 'from the bottom up' I have managed to get things working. Tomas this is probably for you to investigate as you are the 4.0->4.1 conversion expert.
If the report was about the j2seproject, it works fine. There was several fixes of deadlocks among modal dialogs, probably this was one of them.
