Description Patrick Keegan 2005-03-01 16:45:47 UTC
see issue 55055.

Though I think using the comma to separate the
different parts of the key sequence is "correct",
I understand how it wouldn't be understandable to
people using these types of shortcuts.

Maybe we could use "then" instead?
Comment 1 Geertjan Wielenga 2005-03-15 10:30:23 UTC
I'll investigate whether "then" will fit and, if so, will make the appropriate
changes.
Comment 2 Geertjan Wielenga 2005-04-08 16:45:42 UTC
Fixed.

The keyboard shortcuts that this issue is about are now as follows:

Alt-U, then G
Alt-U, then S
Alt-U, then I
Ctrl-J, then S/E

Please indicate whether this is good enough.

The explanation is OK in my opinion. We've discussed the shortcuts on last
editor meeting and the proposal for next releases is following: users might not
find out they should stop pressing Alt for the second key so we could make it
work also when Alt key is pressed on the second key. So each of these multikey
shortcuts would have 2 options - e.g. both Alt-U, G and Alt-U, Alt-G would work.
Hopefully this will not require additional changes in shortcuts.pdf :-)
Comment 4 Geertjan Wielenga 2005-04-08 17:31:10 UTC
That sounds like a great solution. :-) No, I don't think that will have an
impact on the keyboard shortcuts card...
