It would be nice if the NB project type showed
build.xml for the project. I edit it quite often,
and it is non-convenient to go to Files tab in
order to do it.

I am attaching a (trivial) patch to achieve this.

Well, it should be said: it would be nice if the NB project showed it
in the Projects view.
