Description pzgyuanf 2005-01-29 09:32:33 UTC
Currently, there is some confusion in Version
Manager->Add  window.

-What's the meanings of 'Perform checkout' checkbox
-What's the meanings of 'Set offline mode' checkbox

selecting the 'check out' checkbox and some/one
module(s) had got, but every time I want to
edit/view the file, it always try to connect the
remote server(repository). whatever setting you
set to the 'offline mode' checkbox it was effective.

so, if you
 - didn't select the 'check out' checkbox
    All you got is null version manager setting.
 - really select the 'check out' checkbox
   All you got is the snapshoot of the repository

  It is reasonable to name to 'browse' and nothing
relative to 'check out'

   Continue, if you like to work with the checked
out source as normal netbeans project you have to
'New project with existing source', which
currently haven't supply one option for copying
the source to netbeans workspace directory. So,
the new created project work at the same location
with the versioning window. But if you are
offline(disconnect to remote server/shut down the
external network connection) you still can work in
project window but refused in version window.

So why not just one step to 'check out as netbean
project' which is the original intention if I'm
not mistake.

And if process of the checkout failed or
(in Netbeans4.1dev)didn't select the 'check out' checkbox,
you will have not chance to checkout any module. Becuse the 'check out'
isn't listed on CVS->... menu.
If you try to CVS->Refresh, VCS output say,"cvs [update aborted]:
there is no version here; run 'cvs checkout' first".
