Description Ken Frank 2005-01-11 19:39:37 UTC
per email with Ian, am filing this to
be able to note progress of the issues
related to l10n readiness, such as

l10.list
making sure its setup so l10n can put back
to convenient place
scripts to make sure localized builds happen
properly/accuarately and that localized files
are installed in proper location.

NOTE - profiler will stay in closed source
but Ian has worked out with RE that they will
support l10n in same way as mobility does,
which I think implies that l10n can putback
to translatedfiles module and that kits
will be built from l10n.list -- so that is
another reason this issue is being called out.

RE or profiler team - please correct if my
assumptions above not correct.

Also, to dev team, please send me pointer
to some commandline browsable closed source
of profiler or at least web browsable, so
I can look at l10n.list to review - I'm
not able to check it out now.

And send me any questions about what else might
be needed as to l10n readiness or
putbacks/building of localized jars.

Comment 4 Ken Frank 2005-01-19 18:50:16 UTC
a question on l10n.list - is netfluid the only cvs dir for all
of profiler ?

If so, then l10n.list location is correct. I assume the items
on l10n.list represent bundle files that might go in any of the
various profiler jars that are seen as part of the several
profiler m4 nbms ?

if the subdirs under netfluid are each viewed as separate top
level cvs dirs (as in other open or closed src) - then l10n.list
needed for each applicable one. -- soorry for the question, I just
wanted to make sure about this.

Should be complete by M6
Comment 6 Jiri Sedlacek 2005-01-20 16:00:05 UTC
Currently netfluid is the only cvs dir for all parts of the profiler.
The items on l10n.list represent bundle files that might go in any of
the various profiler jars/nbms.

Re the last comment in this issue -

The items on l10n.list represent bundle files that might go in any of
the various profiler jars/nbms.

just to clarify, that the l10n.list needs also all the javahelp
files, as well as any other localizable html files.
(sorry if I've misunderstood above comment)

I'll send team seprately a doc on how to optimize wildcarding
of l10n.list entries to help reduce possible omissions.

Comment 8 Jiri Sedlacek 2005-01-26 11:09:14 UTC
i10n.list has been updated to use wildcarding. Added html docs and
javahelp.

Note that currently only org.netbeans.* packages are
internationalized. Full internationalization is planned for M6.
Comment 9 iformanek 2005-04-12 14:02:04 UTC
Postponing to M7
Comment 10 Ken Frank 2005-06-03 20:54:45 UTC
checking back about this - since profiler might not be localized for RR,
but soon after it will be as part of l10n of next nb release,
so it will really help to have all i18n done by RR, and will allow time
for testing as well.
