Description gooddreams 2004-11-29 08:31:05 UTC
NB4.0RC1 file open dialog box can not detect
system local setting, must specify locale in
netbeans.cnf. NB4.0b2 can use default locale
correct. both use jdk1.4.2_05.
when use jdk5.0, the button caption is correct,
but file list window can not show local name, eg.
GBK.

Missing steps to reproduce from scratch, screenshots, etc. I find it
suspicious that reporter claims something changed between 4.0b2 and
4.0rc1. Both use a plain JFileChooser and rely on it to display files
on disk.

Comment 5 David Simonek 2005-03-16 12:38:26 UTC
I believe this could be side effect of my workaround to use Tahoma fonts when
available. But this issue is already fixed for a while. Could you please test if
error still appears with 4.0 FCS and 4.1 dev builds and if error is special to
File/Open dialog or if it applies for all dialogs in the system?
Comment 6 David Simonek 2005-03-24 13:50:26 UTC
No response for a week, so I assume problem is gone and indeed was a result of
already fixed Tahoma font tricks. Closing, please reopen if problem reappears.
