I find that if I select text and either type ctrl-c or use the right mouse button I can't copy text from an output tab to the clipboard. Nothing happens, the clipboard remains unchanged.
Strange. Works for me with Windows NT, JDK 1.5.0. I can select text in the output tab using both Ctrl-C and righ-click + Copy and paste it into Notepad. Please try again and if possible, provide exact steps to reproduce the problem.
If I run a Hello World program and then highlight "Hello" (it is highlighted in blue) in the tab "Output - HelloWorld - I/O" then either ctrl-c or right copy the clipboard doesn't pick up Hello. I am using NB 3.6, J 1.4.2, and Windows 2000.
Ok, I think I managed to reproduce it in 3.6. It's not reliably reproducible, but sometimes Ctrl-C (Copy) doesn't seem to pick up the selected text. It usually works for me on subsequent attepmts. The 4.0 implementation of output is different and Ctrl-C seems to work fine there.
based on the evaluation on jchalupa, I'm moing the issue to terminalemulator subcomponent which is the placeholoder for old output window bugs. the new output window coebase seems to work ok.
