The documentation of freeform projects should describe the use of <properties> and <properties-file> in the project.xml to import the properties that are used by the ant script. These are pretty fundamental mechanisms that are required to make complicated freeform projects shareable and e.g. not have inappropriate paths in them that only suit one user. Currently it seems the only way to find out about them is to locate the schema file in the source - which most users aren't going to bother with!
Yes, this mechanism ought to be described in the docs.
Targetting to 4.0. I know John is working on it.
Online help now has a page called "Editing the project.xml File" that covers importing properties in project.xml. I will update the web guide soon.
This issue was solved long time ago. Because nobody has reopened it neither added comments, we are verifying/closing it now. If you are still able to reproduce the problem, please reopen. Thanks in advance.
