Description jhoffman 2004-09-22 22:34:54 UTC
Competitive products allow me to right click
within the property sheet's property value field
to get a context menu containing the items:

* Cut
* Copy
* Paste
* Delete

The items are enabled/disabled as appropriate, but
Copy should always be enabled.

Also note that the Edit menu Cut/Copy/Paste/Delete
items do not apply to a value selected in a
property sheet. In competitive products, you can
use the main menu Edit > Copy item to copy the
value of a property and then paste it into a text
file, for example.

Providing a context menu here would also address
existing issues 21901 and 43673 (unable to copy a
read only property value)

Since we will have a selection ability for particular properties (see
45704 issue) it shouldn't be a big problem to add others action
related to a single property to the popup menu.
But it would be probably considered by HIE (adding Dusan and others
interested).
Could you add your opinion Dusan? Thanks.

As Jeff Hoffman noted, see issue 21901 for interesting discussion, Ales.

IMHO, this enhancement would be very useful, however, and this discussion seems
to be over:-(
