In NB 3.6 there were tool bar and menu options to compile the currecnt file, and another to compile the project. Likewise for running. 4.0 has the 'whole project' options. and it allows compileing the current file easily too. But running the current file is cumbersome. It's not available on the toolbar, and on the menu it's buried as one of many options on a submenu called 'run other'. This gets old fast when you need to rerun the same file over and over.
Up to Jano whether we want to make any changes. I never liked the Run Other submenu other, don't know where that came from. Of course you can customize the menus and toolbars and put actions wherever you prefer; this is about the defaults.
We considered different approaches on how to arrange the run menu in different fashion, but decided to do only a small change. We will move the "Test Project" menu item from the submenu and rename "Run Other" to "Run File". We believe that this is a reasonable default. If you prefer a different arrangement, you are free to customize the menus and toolbars to fit your needs.
