This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
This is a weird bug that will probably be impossible to reproduce, but... Every time I open up a filechooser in the IDE, I get a dialog box that says "Windows is searching for netbeans.exe..." followed by a dialog box that says "The drive or network connection that the shortcut "NetBeans IDE 4.0Dev.lnk" refers to is unavailable..." This happens every time I switch directories in the filechooser. What's worse, it happens in all java programs - older versions of the IDE, JavaHelp standalone tools, etc. I've done a clean user dir and a clean install and the problem won't go away.
I believe this bug will be closed soon as INVALID. Something is very wrong on your machine. But I assign this to Radek who is our expert on this kind of problem. Radku, it's worthwhile to go see John's machine to see what's wrong there
There is reported Bug Id: 5049016 REGRESSION: JFileChooser resolving Windows desktop shortcuts too eagerly - already fixed.
