Description ujbi 2004-07-11 09:56:19 UTC
Platform neutral installer crashes on OS/2 Warp4.
Looks like InstallShield installer (the one you're
using) cannot handle this platform. First it
cannot find the java runtime. Second when you go
forward and set the destination install folder,
installer finishes but just nothing happened. Why
don't you provide a version that is *real*
platform neutral, just a zip/jar and a install
summary ?
Tested under j2sdk 1.4.2 (www.innotek.de) and java141
(www.goldencode.com).

Hi,
I looked at the download page and I found, that there is OS
independent download page which contains the JAR file (which is OS
independent, but there could be OS dependent bugs :-( sure) and ZIP
file (see NetBeans IDE archive). Is it what you wanted to have?

BTW: Reassigning to www component which more suitable for download issues.

we offer installers only for Windows, Linux, Solaris SPARC and Solaris
x86. For all other platforms the users should download the zip/tar
file and manually install the IDE.

Please don't offer the jar installer. It's not that generic as it seems

no more JAR installers

We recently moved out from Collabnet's infrastructure
