This is a question for the HIE: the old javadoc manager used to have separate buttons for adding a jar, a folder and a URI. The current one (in the library manager) has a single button for jar and folder and a second one for adding a URI. Would it not be better to keep the original design with two separate buttons? The add jar/folder buttoin focusses on the jar and makes it tempting to use the Add URI button (which is apparently not intended for local paths).
I believe this is a duplicate?
Is this issue being considered for 4.1 or promo F ? Many users who have high speed access to the internet simply want to connect to the internet and search javadoc. It seems kinda silly to have to download & install the javadocs and take up some 150+ meg of disk space if you can get to the javadocs just as rapidly via an internet connection. If this is a duplicate of some other issue, please mark it as such.

I don't think this is a duplicate of issue #41443. Certainly the unrelated comments about wishing to access Javadoc remotely is covered by #41443. But this issue is about using one button for adding either a JAR or a folder, rather than one button for adding a JAR and one button for adding a folder, which might be clearer for some users (and might alleviate some problems with the UI of JFileChooser in FILES_AND_DIRECTORIES mode). I was just mentioning that the same concern has been expressed by several people in regard to various dialogs (Lib Mgr, Classpath for projects, etc.) and should be considered and preferably filed in one place.
Now it's "Add ZIP/Folder"
