Expanding folders in explorer takes longer in GTK

Tondo: Do you have any measurements that would prove the problem is on
our side (not on the JDK side)?

Significant part of the problem is on our side. See the bugtraq bug
#5042603. AdaptiveMatteBorder class on our side was identified as the
main culprit. Tim made some optimizations in issue 44711, but they
don't seem to help as expected.

Performance problem is in JDK;  GTK L&F will not be supported for promo-D.

Once we'll support GTK, we'll file this issue again if still valid ...
