Description jrojcek 2004-04-20 15:13:18 UTC
Few participants couldn't find a way how to create JAR file for
project.
Comment 1 Petr Hrebejk 2004-04-27 13:36:31 UTC
Create JAR action added into context menu of J2SE project root node.
However it does same think as build. File another bug when you want me
to remove it again :-)
Comment 2 Jesse Glick 2004-04-27 23:23:09 UTC
Maybe we could have one context menu item "Build (Create JAR)"? I
don't know, just thinking that having two context menu items that do
the exact same thing is also going to confuse users.
Comment 3 jrojcek 2004-06-09 13:56:36 UTC
Reopening as the solution "Build Project JAR" might be confusing and is inconsistent with
web apps projects.
Comment 4 jrojcek 2004-06-09 13:58:45 UTC
Petr, please rename the action names back to "Build Project" and "Clean and Build Project"
and reassign to me. I would come up with different solution for next promotion.
Comment 5 Petr Hrebejk 2004-06-10 11:12:17 UTC
Should be renamed. No more JAR word in the popup menu.

Reassigning.
Comment 6 Max Sauer 2005-08-10 12:54:04 UTC
Could you please check if this issue is still valid? IMO jars are created
automatically inside /dist when building application.
Comment 7 jrojcek 2005-10-13 17:04:37 UTC
I think this should be fixed together with #46721: Option for a j2seproject to produce no JAR. If there is
an option to build without producing JAR, then it makes sense to introduce a Build JAR menu item that
would always build a JAR.

Changing to enhancement.
