This Bugzilla instance is a read-only archive of historic NetBeans bug reports. To report a bug in NetBeans please follow the project's instructions for reporting issues.
Steps to reproduce: 1. Open Filesystems and expand some nodes. 2. Remember selected node, expanded tree and scrollbar positions. 3. Close Filesystems (by pushing close button from header of filesystems Window). 4. Restart IDE. 5. Open Filesystems (by pushing main menu Window | Filesystems) Nothing is preserved from closed Filesystems window.
I would say this is as designed and wise. When you close window, you are saying "I don't want to work with this window now". If you closed by mistake, sure you'll be happy to find that state was preserved. However when you restart IDE (should be done one or two times a day, if it's not then error is somewhere else) you *won't* even remember what the state meant and preserving state is useless, it gives user no added value IMHO. Second, it's hardly implementable - store state of all windows that were opened in the past? Or only some of them? Which ones? I hope you see it now. Anyway passing to HIE just in case.
