Description klosels 2004-02-11 12:43:27 UTC
While the close button on editor panes is always
available, even when the tab is not
active/selected, the close buttons on windows like
execution or output are only visible for the pane
inside a container which was last active, whether
it currently has the focus or not.

This seems a bit inconsistent and inconvenient
since it's quite annoying having to switch to a
window first to close it when I know anyway what's
in there and I don't need it anymore.

BTW: The close button on incative windows could be
a bit less obtrusive to avoid a unnecessarily
cluttered look, e.g. with a gray instead of black X.

Passing to Jano/HIE.

Sorry but I don't agree. Close buttons on editor tabs should behave
like in output panes, not the contrary.

It's too easy to close an editor tab when you want to select it, just
because you click on the X button.

Also, with Metal L&F the X button does not blink when mouse is over,
which makes it easier to click it by mistake.

just my 2 cents: I'm having opposite problem, I'm having trouble
targeting the close 'x', the are got smaller compared to 3.5?
