Description David Simonek 2003-03-28 15:42:51 UTC
Lexicon should contain frequently used terms so
that we are consistent in UI spec., javadoc,
documentation written by tech writers etc.

For example, lexicon should contain explanations
of terms like Window, Document Window, Window
Area, Document Area, Window maximize, Document
Window maximize, SDI?, MDI?, Quick list,
Documents... dialog etc.

good idea, Dafe. One point of concern: I think some terms that would be useful from an
API/Javadoc point of view would be confusing and/or useless from a user point of view.
We might actually need two lists, though hopefully there shouldn't be too much
difference. Jano, if you can make the initial list, I can work with you to refine it.

2 Patrick - agreed. Actually I would recommend to create lexicon with
target user's point of view in mind and make differences rare. There's
usually no serious problem to adopt terms used by end users into tech
doc, javadoc and the code itself.
Jano, will you look at it, please? Thx.

The URL field contains the link to a glossary. It is not the user
point of view on the window system really. I will try to change update
the document, so please do not consider the document finished.
Comment 4 David Simonek 2005-12-20 13:22:59 UTC
I think what Jano wrote is enough and issue is obsolete now, so closing.
