To be used for Third party modules (not hosted on NetBeans.org)
Please consider adding more info here. Not sure what you mean. Everybody can create his own update center. Do you mean that we should host the catalog and 3dr parties should provide downloads. If so please assign this issue to right people i.e. pople maintaining our AU server.
Adding it on the server is simple and easy, but it requires the user to manually add the server in the IDE. We would like the IDE to offer that server by default starting from the next version, to avoid having to mix Third party with stable NetBeans AU server (the currennt state - Third Party subfolder on stable AU). So I propose that: - RE/Robert Novak creates the new AU server - AU Owner creates a new AU server connection in the AU client pointing to this new server, making it selected by default (same as Alpha and Beta). (for now - this will require some further discussion) In the future, we might also consider adding a "Trial Offers from Third Parties" server to extend the offer to semi-commercial stuff, but this will require some more work with partners and user community.
I've created Third Party modules update center for Netbeans dev URL: http://www.netbeans.org/updates/3rdparty/dev_1.6_.xml
reassigne to Jirka - new owner of autoupdate
Fixed in 3.6
It's fixed in nb3.6 not in development builds. Nb 3.6 links at http://www.netbeans.org/updates/thirdparty/36_1.6_.xml. Which URL should be in dev build? http://www.netbeans.org/updates/thirdparty/dev_1.6.xml or http://www.netbeans.org/updates/3rdparty/dev_1.6.xml or none ?
