NetBeans takes a while to shut down, saving
settings and so forth.
A few users have complained (this was also a
complaint of Compaq
when I visted them) that the process appears to
run on for some
time after the UI disappears.

Eclipse solves this with a "shutdown splash
screen" with a progress
bar.  I think it would be the right thing for us
to, so the user
knows something is happening.

Fixed, we have now shutdown splash screen. But IMO right solution is to have
fast exit and not these silly embarassing shutdown thing. anyway...
