Description _ tboudreau 2002-12-11 01:18:11 UTC
Creating an umbrella issue for issues 20260,
25470, 25966 and 26937 -
all of which are variations on the same issue (or
at least, equally
likely to all be fixed by a fix for any one of them).

The behaviors in question here are very
platform-specific, and in
some cases involve things that require different
per-platform
implementations likely to break as new JDK
versions fix the
underlying bugs. So fixing these is quite difficult.

I have changed version from 4.0 dev to S1S 4.2 (Nevada).
Comment 2 _ tboudreau 2003-09-09 01:04:27 UTC
Changing this issue to a task, which probably makes more sense.
Comment 3 _ tboudreau 2004-01-19 17:19:43 UTC
Created test branch modality_15hack in core/javahelp - contains
testing code for evaluating a possible fix for JDK 1.5 (requires
custom patched JDK 1.5 build). Note the workaround for this issue
in the JDK has very serious threading problems (potential for
completely unsolvable deadlocks due to multiple event dispatch
threads running wild). We're hoping this can be resolved, but don't
get your hopes up yet.
