Since 4.0, when NotifyException dialog was displayed, it used output window to hyperlink stacktrace lines to allow open editor on appropriated row java source. It won't be possible after new projects are integrated (repository != classpath) Jesse suggested: > Perhaps there can be some interface in OW code (core) > which apisupport could implement and register to lookup - > the impl would know about the Classpath API and > offer to hyperlink lines of output. See #27652 for details.
reassigne to Tim, new owner of terminal emulator
Projects is gone, which kills one reason for this issue's existence. Better solution: Kill NotifyException. I don't know any other application that displays such things - if Photoshop has a problem, it doesn't show me a stack trace, same with any other application I can think of except NetBeans.
This issue doesn't exist because of Projects - it exists because of openide separation work done in part to support Projects. The upshot is that stack traces used to be hyperlinked in exception dialogs and now they are not. Anyway I tend to agree that we shouldn't have this dialog to begin with.
