With Version control turned on (Git), errors are no longer highlighted at the scrollbar and no longer underlined.

How to replicate:

1. Make project git.

2. Write codes with syntax errors.

Have you had a chance to update your client since? I'm getting errors reported back to me just fine. Look at this to see what I mean, video pending.
