Created attachment 164286 [details] Screenshot of small ui Hey, So I have this laptop with a resolution of 3840x2160 and that makes Netbeans UI become minuscule. I have attached a screenshot and you can see that all the menus etc are completely unusable due to the small size. Is there a way to fix this or is this a bug? I installed netbeans today on a clean install of windows 10 Pro 64bit Product Version: NetBeans IDE 8.2 (Build 201609300101) Updates: NetBeans IDE is updated to version NetBeans 8.2 Patch 1 Java: 1.8.0_101; Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM 25.101-b13 Runtime: Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment 1.8.0_101-b13 System: Windows 10 version 10.0 running on amd64; Cp1252; en_GB (nb)
Created attachment 164287 [details] Netbeans small startup screen compared with Firefox
I have attached another screenshot so that you can see how small that startup screen is compared to Firefox, which is the browser I am using for posting this bug report.
Created attachment 164288 [details] Netbeans vs Visual studio code I have just installed visual studio code and set it next to Netbeans. You can clearly see how unusable netbeans is. Please do something about this URGENTLY. Netbeans is my go to editor but under these conditions I can't do any work.
Does anyone have any updates on this??? I have one issue that seem similar to this one: - https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=253761
I don't have a high-dpi display to verify, but in general you should setup Java to support this configuration - see for example https://superuser.com/questions/988379/how-do-i-run-java-apps-upscaled-on-a-high-dpi-display or http://stackoverflow.com/questions/30555401/java-disable-dpi-aware-not-working/39372897. A quick workaround to just make the IDE fonts bigger is to start NetBeans with the fontsize parameter - http://wiki.netbeans.org/FaqFontSize.
Please have a look at the new Apache NetBeans JIRA board. There were a lot of work for HiDPI support, e.g. https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/NETBEANS-765. Use the latest version of Apache NetBeans if possible.
