Description bht 2016-11-25 04:30:29 UTC
Suppose there is a problem with the network connection where a host name has to be added to the non-proxy hosts list.

I go into Menu|Tools|Options|General|More... and add a host to the "Non Proxy Hosts" list.

Then I press OK and press the "Test connection" button. For some unknown reason, this "appears" to lock up the IDE. I cannot believe that this takes such a long time. So I press Cancel to get out of this dialog.

This hides the dialog, but it does not cancel the connection attempt. Instead the IDE locks up for a few minutes. When I get back to the dialog later, then the icon besides the "Test connection" button is a green check mark. Subsequent tests are very fast.

I am adding this bug because I am hoping that in the whole networking area, that I can somehow make a contribution where at least one item gets fixed that is an improvement. Overall the IDE does not feel good in this area at all, when proxies are involved.
