This bug was originally marked as duplicate of bug 192573, that is already resolved. This bug is still valid, so this seems to be another bug, but it might be related.

Build: NetBeans IDE 8.1 (Build 201510222201)
VM: Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM, 25.51-b03, Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment, 1.8.0_51-b16
OS: Windows 7

GUEST: netbeans hangs for 20seconds after some time of not using it.

if i leave it in the background for a day, then get back to it, click on just about anything
it freezes for 20 secs.

The whole time in AWT is spent in sun.awt.Win32GraphicsDevice.getMaxConfigsImpl[native]()
